Amy C A Place for You
Smith Rock, ORThere is a certain place in the outdoors that speaks to each of us directly. It’s one place over all the others that holds a certain magic. A place where we feel we unequivocally belong.
When we’re there, we feel totally and completely ourselves; we bask in its simplicity and grace; and we become the strong and capable person we know ourselves to be.
This place sees us. It brings out our strengths and encourages us to break out of our old patterns and habits and pushes us to grow and spread our wings.
We feel an abundance of joy and a vibrant energy soaking into our pores as we breathe in the fresh air.
Our negative Inner Voice is silenced and we are able to see with clarity and confidence the truth and beauty that we hold within us.
When we’re there, our troubles, insecurities and worries lift from our shoulders and we become lighter and happier.
Here, we come alive. And as we actively engage in this wild place we are at peace. We are wholly and fully our selves.
Where is this place for you? When were you last there? When will you go again? What are you waiting for?

One of my favorite places is the Glacier Lake basin in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. It's a spectacular, craggy, green wonderland. The landscape takes your breath away, and you could spend weeks exploring its countless tarns, rock formations, and gullies.
It's not easy to reach. The trail is a endless, rugged, brush-covered ascent. Last time I visited, a winter avalanche had even downed trees across the path. And after particularly snowy winters, the bugs will eat you alive. But all those challenges make me love it more. You feel alive there: independent, playful, determined, and free.
That sounds beautiful (minus the bugs). Marking it on the list of places-to-visit. Thanks for sharing!
